BORYS TARASENKO / Milkhorse
Borys Tarasenko is a multidisciplinary artist based in Edmonton, Alberta. He is the son of Ukrainian Catholic priest Reverend Anton Tarasenko and wife Nada who emigrated to Canada from Bosnia in 1984 with Borys’ two older brothers and older sister. Borys was born at the Royal Alexandria Hospital in Edmonton in 1988 and was raised Ukrainian bilingual and Catholic. He spent most of his childhood in Calgary and Redwater, Alberta but now lives in Edmonton.
A BFA Art & Design graduate from University of Alberta with a focus in Painting, his work often deals with faith, pop culture, human consumption, and his own cultural identity. Borys likes creating artwork and graphics for musicians, theatre artists, and non-profit organizations and has been involved in a number of public art projects throughout his hometown of Edmonton.
